Midgard vikingfestival: Green Vikings craft workshop

Feeling crafty? Come join Midgard Viking Centre’s Green Vikings craft workshops!

The week before Midgard Viking Festival we are offering several courses within traditional crafts.

Kari Helland will be running the following courses:

Tuesday 1- juli, 11 am - 3 pm: Coiled baskets. This course will get you started on how to make baskets out of easily available materials, provide you with enough material to finish a basket, historical background for basket making and lots of information about materials and equipment you can use.

Wednesday 2. juli, 11 am - 3 pm: Nett making: You will learn how to make different types of nets using the same technique, you can either try out each variety and make samples, or you can concentrate on making a net of your choice.

Thursday 3. july, 11 am - 3 pm: Bast: Curious about tree bast? In this course you will learn how to gather, prepare and use tree bast for cordage and looping, making a small bag.

Minimum 5 participants, maximum 12 participants.

Course fee, included materials: 450 NOK. 

Material and tools will be provided. 

There will be tools for sale, and if we don’t use it all, there will also be some materials for sale.
